Welcome to the Prismatarium

For two weeks this summer, I had the privilege of helping conserve a vibrantly colored ceiling mural at the Maritime Museum located next to the Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. This project grew my enthusiasm for public art, and it provided some dramatic transformation images as well. Read all about it here on the WUDPAC Class of 2014 Blog.

Jessica Ford is a member of the WUDPAC class of 2014. She is majoring in paintings conservation, focusing on traditional easel painting as well as murals and modern materials. Jessica spent two weeks working in San Francisco before leaving on an eight-week internship at the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Winterthur is celebrating 60 years of graduate programs in art conservation and material culture studies in the current exhibition A Lasting Legacy: Sixty Years of Winterthur Graduate Programs, on view through June 16, 2013.
